Making Tracks -

On the 20th of May 2017 Alyth Bike Club is hosting their annual race day 'Making Tracks' this year we are focusing on providing an exciting days racing for kids of all ages and abilities. We are also hoping to introduce a club competition as part of the day. There will be a range of other attractions including a BBQ and guided rides for adults. Entries per person £10 through British Cycling or on the day. Team entries £36 for a team of 6. Team members will race as individuals too. Team entries through email eliotpalmer@btinternet.com.

Kids Racing will begin at 1.30pm with the following events. Downhill – timed run down through natural trail and then onto the bike park finishing at the bottom of the blue trail. Dirt Crit – as many laps of a mellow cross country course as you can do in 15 minutes (10 min for the younger ones). Pump Track Time Trial – multiple timed laps of the pump track. Hill Climb – timed run up to the event village.

Why Making Tracks?

Each year Alyth Bike Club has a push to raise money for the continued maintenance and upkeep of the Community Woodland and Bike Park. Most of the money raised covers insurance costs for the Bike Park, volunteer days and the Bike Club. Over the year we raise money from Bike Club subscriptions, an annual raffle (watch out for these tickets soon) and Making Tracks our annual event. This year we have had a problem with the insurance for an adult race so we will be providing guided rides and focusing on kids racing. There will also be a range of other attractions including a BBQ with meat from the Old Piggery. We'd be delighted if folk came up on the day to see what is going on or joined in with the guided riding or kids racing.
